| So, as usual, it's been a while...over a year...I'll be surprised if anyone responds to this, lol. I'm going to try to keep this thing updated as best I can. Lex and I have been married for over two years now...wow!! How time flies!!! It amazes me how we are still learning about each other after knowing each other for over 5 years and have been together for over 3. I am so grateful for him and our relationship. I love him more every day I am still working as a Customer Service Rep at a call center. I have so many stories....I should write a manifesto about all the wackiness. One of my favorite stories: (By the way, this customer was from Lousiana. He wasn't foreign and he wasn't five years old.) Customer: "Can I have your postal address?" Me: ".....Mt. Vernon, OH, 4"[cust interrupts] Customer: "Can you please spell "Ohio" for me?" Me: *WTH??* "O-H-I-O". Customer's mother in the background: "Why, that's WAY up north!!" Me, mentally: Thanks for the geography lesson. Seriously, "Ohio" spells itself........ | | |
| So, it's been ages since I've done anything with Xanga. I've been thinking about starting again, but am just curious to see if anyone still passes by. If so, please comment. Thanks, love you all! | | |
| An 80 year old couple were having problems remembering things, so they decided to go to their doctor to get checked out to make sure nothing was wrong with them. When they arrived at the doctor's, they explained to the doctor about the problems they were having with their memory.
After checking the couple out, the doctor tells them that they were physically okay but might want to start writing things down and make notes to help them remember things. The couple thanked the doctor and left.
Later that night while watching TV, the old man got up from his chair and his wife asks, "Where are you going?"
He replies, "To the kitchen."
She asks, "Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?"
He replies, "Sure."
She then asks him, "Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?"
He says, "No, I can remember that."
She then says, "Well, I also would like some strawberries on top. You had better write that down cause I know you'll forget that."
He says, "I can remember that, you want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries."
She replies, "Well, I also would like whip cream on top. I know you will forget that so you better write it down."
With irritation in his voice, he says, "I don't need to write that down,
I can remember that." He then fumes into the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes he returns from the kitchen and hands her a plate of bacon and eggs.
She stares at the plate for a moment and says, "You forgot my toast." | | |
| So....it's been a while. God has been really good and I feel more blessed every day. Lex is a wonderful husband and I love being his wife We have a nice, cozy home...four wonderful cats...wonderful friends...good jobs...what more could we ask for? I'm not saying this in a boastful spirit, but rather a content, grateful one For the curious masses wondering what married life is like: 1. It is being loved unconditionally and loving unconditionally back 2. It is learning to put another person in front of your own needs, and learning how to express how you need yours to be met 3. It is realizing how to express frustration, irritation, and anger....without internalizing or hiding your "negative" feelings (something that's particularly difficult for me). 4. It is experiencing the deepest, most intimate bond/friendship of your life 5. It is appreciating every moment together and not taking that time together for granted 6. It is figuring out how to negotiate and compromise with two different viewpoints 7. It is getting to know the other person better every day 8. It is so fufilling!!! Any of you married folks have input as to what you love (or don't love) about married life? Anyone not yet married have any thoughts? | | |
| I am married now, and loving it! Hopefully I'll be able to respond to previous comments and write an actual post later....hope all is well with you, my friends!! | | |
